Last night, I felt like I needed to write an email to those of you who have signed up for our email newsletters (if you’re not on that mailing list, you can sign up here), asking you to pray for the project we have that is finishing up in June. Many of you know that I have been traveling out of the country every January and June to take place in a very special project to train youth ministry trainers.
This is the sixth time we have organized a trip to this country, but this time we have faced many special challenges. So, I asked people to pray specifically for this initiative and the details that are going into this specific trip in June.
One of the problems was financial. We are running a little behind budget at this time, and the trip is costing us a little more than we had expected. I didn’t mention this in the email, as it was a request for prayer, not a plea for donations. In my opinion, the need is greater than just a financial need. It is a spiritual need as we have faced obstacles of all kinds.
One of the people who are on our list called the YMI president and asked him what was up with the trip. After talking about it, by faith, this family donated $500 to the project.
Later, I found out that they weren’t even sure if they would receive a paycheck this week, but that they had decided, by faith, to give to the project, regardless of their current financial situation. After they had agreed to send the check, they found out that they were getting paid, and that God was faithful to them.
Please keep praying for the trip. I know that we will be celebrating a grand victory in June, but we need your prayers to finish the project well. Thanks.
Three years ago tomorrow, Nathan arrived, and things haven’t been the same since. I’ve learned a lot about life, priorities, ministry, and God.
I can’t believe he’s 3! It’s crazy. I remember it like it was yesterday (Check out the video from his first day). It’s unbelievable how one person can change your life.
Plus, being a dad is a huge responsibility.
I just hope I can be a good role model and a great friend for him. But it’s a huge job.

Being a dad is the most important job in the world. I just pray I can be a good dad for my little boy. He deserves it.
One of our goals is to get people to pray for us. It’s important for us in both life and ministry to have people who will pray for us.
We know that our success is based on the prayers of people like you. We’d love to have a ton of people praying for us and the ministry in Mexico City (and Latin America).
So, here are five times when you could pray for us. We’d love to have you praying for us when these things happen to you.
When you eat tacos or see a taco bell (or any Mexican food). Tacos are popular here. If you eat tacos or burritos (like at Chipotle…mmm), stop and pray for us.
When you hear someone speaking Spanish. Everywhere you go, you probably hear people speaking Spanish. Next time you’re in a store and hear Spanish, pray for the Poulette family.
When you see a soccer ball or a soccer game. If you take your kids to soccer practice or a soccer game, or if you pass by a soccer field or see it on TV, pray for us.
When you hear a dog bark. We hear dogs barking everyday. When you hear a dog bark, pray for the ministry in Mexico City.

They say 70% of Villahermosa, the capital city, is under water. All sorts of places have been set up where people can donate water and food for those affected.
We visited Tabasco about a year and a half ago, and it is a beautiful state. Our prayers are with the people who are affected.
The countdown has begun. After a long and productive (yet busy) summer, we go back to Mexico next Wednesday. We are looking forward to getting back into the routine of life and ministry, however, it is going to be difficult (as always) to say goodbye to our friends and family.
We have had a great time this summer getting to see many of our friends and family, and Nathan has grown pretty attached to all of his aunts, uncles, grandparents, and cousins. It’s going to be hard for him to say goodbye. Please pray that he will cope, and pray that we will be able to help him deal with missing his family.
