Poulette Family in a Green Taxi

I was playing around with Photoshop and put our family in a green Volkswagen taxi. The “vochos” are a typical sight (without our family) in Mexico City.

Maybe I’m writing this post because it’s dinnertime and I’m hungry, or maybe just because I miss Mexican food.
Either way, I thought today I would share with you my top 10 Mexican Foods (in no particular order).
Hungry yet? I sure am. I post often about food. Here are some videos I’ve made about Mexican food:
They say that babies who are born breech have trouble with their hips because of the pressure placed on them before birth.
Since Benjamin was born breech, the doctors wanted to do an ultrasound on his hips when he turned 6 weeks old. So we went for today.
We went to St. Joseph’s Hospital in Tampa. The results came back negative. Everything is normal. Thank God that nothing was wrong. We didn’t even see the doctor after they did the ultrasound because everything was fine.
So, we went to International Plaza as a family since we were already down that way. Nathan got to play at the Looney Toons park (see the video below), I got to take my first ever trip to an Apple Store (although I didn’t spend as much time there as I would have liked), and we all got to share a delicious cheesecake at The Cheesecake Factory.
Overall, it was a great family day despite the stress of having to go to the hospital for the test. Thanks for praying for us (follow our PoulettePrayer twitter stream.)
Stuff Christians Like wrote a great little list about The Mission Trip Airport Layover.
Anyone who’s ever gone on a trip with a group of young people and had to stay in the airport will enjoy the list.
Anyway, go check out the post on Stuff Christians Like.
There are some pretty good ones in the comments, too.
I love to go to Starbucks to work, but I don’t like to pay for WiFi. All I ever buy is the brewed coffee of the day, and I like to spend a long time in the Starbucks when I go because I can get into a groove and get things done.
But I’ve been going to Panera Bread instead because they have free refills and free WiFi. But that is going to change soon.
How come I haven’t been using a Starbucks Card Rewards all summer long? I just found out that you can get a Starbucks card, register it online, and then you get all sorts of rewards.
Here are the rewards: Free refills on brewed coffee; Free WiFi; Free Beverage Customization; and Free Beverages when you buy beans.
I got a card and signed up today, and now I’m looking forward to turning Starbucks into my new office (sorry, I’m ditching Panera Bread.)

I went downtown yesterday with Huberto to buy him his graduation present at the “Plaza de Tecnologia,” or, as I like to call it, the Mexican Best Buy. It’s a huge building (it takes up like a city block) with a bunch of electronics kiosks in it.
In the maze of corridors, you can find anything you want that has to do with computers. It’s totally an experience to go into the crowded place with everyone yelling at you asking you what you are looking for, what you need, etc. Huberto had gotten some stuff stolen when he was at a youth drug rehabilitation center visiting one of the students in his ministry, so we replaced some of that stuff for him for his graduation gift.
Anyway, at the Fine Arts Palace (Palacio de Bellas Artes), they had these huge bronze heads outside, and I got a picture with them. We also got a picture of Huberto kissing one of them.
