Church: Sorry about not getting any pictures of yesterday, but we went to church with the group. It was a great service. The sermon was on how Jesus will separate the sheep from the goats when He returns. The last part of that passage (Matthew 25:31-46) it talks about helping Jesus by helping those in need. The church demonstrated this by giving a new pair of clothes and shoes to a family from another city. It was a great demonstration of what the sermon was about.
In the afternoon, we ate some tacos with the youth group and watched the movie “My Big Fat Greek Wedding” to talk about cultural differences. It was a great youth meeting, with many young people there from the church.

Mission in Tula: We spent the day in Tula, Hidalgo, working at a church that meets in a house there. The church is a mission church of Dios Es Amor in Mexico City. We helped put the tarp up for the roof, shared some gospel literature, and had a good time of fellowship with the people of this church. It was great.

Day downtown: Today we went downtown with the group. We visited the Cathedral, National palace, House of Tiles (Sanborn’s)- click here if you read Spanish, and the Ciudadela market. It was really a great time of fellowship. Tomorrow we will be going to Tula, in the state of Hidalgo to work with a mission church there.

Coming up: This week begins the craziness of summer. We are really looking forward to it, but it is going to be a lot of work. Sunday we go on a retreat with the missionary kids. We will be teaching SHAPE, how God has shaped us for His service. Then on Friday, we begin a youth ministry conference in Cuautla, where we will teach basic principles of youth ministry. It will be great, too. Then, we are preparing for a group that’s coming in the first two weeks of July. Please pray for us during this time. We will be sending an email update soon, we hope.
What a weekend: We went to a water park on Friday with the missionary kids, and we got burnt. After driving almost 3 hours, we stayed all day. It was really fun. Maybe the best waterpark we’ve ever been to. Needless to say, we spent Saturday recovering. Sunday was a busy day, too. We went to the 19th anniversary of the church Dios Es Amor. It was a great celebration with more than 450 people there to celebrate all that God has done in the life of that church. Tonight, we have a meeting in a city 2 hours away with a group of pastors to talk about youth ministry. We are looking forward to it.
We found Outback Steakhouse! For those of you who know Janell, you know that Outback is her favorite restaurant. So, after a great church service on Sunday, we went on an adventure to find it. It was easy to find and easy to get back, which is almost better than knowing that there is one here. The food was great, and we had a good time. God really knows how to take care of us.
