CYM Summit: Tomorrow we leave for the States. We’ll be there for a week. Dennis is going to Kentucky and Janell to Florida. The reason to go to Florida is obvious…to see our friends and family there. The reason I’m going to Kentucky is to meet with the leadership of YMI to talk about our formal youth ministry training that we are conducting in 4 countries. It will be a time to talk with the people who are in Kenya, Ukraine, and the US, teaching youth ministry at the formal level in seminaries and Bible colleges. I am looking forward to seeing how God is going to use YMI in the future.
Painting the school: In preparation for Janell’s new job as English teacher at the Mexico City Christian Academy, we went there today to help paint some classrooms. Since I’m really no good at painting, we only finished one room in like 3 hours. We did get some cool Comex shirts and hats from the paint store. Sweet! The campus is very nice, and we are looking forward to seeing how God is going to use this location for His glory.

English CYM site: Finally! You can now read about the Center for Youth Ministry on our brand new English website. Just go to www.ministeriojuvenil.com and click “ENTER” for the English version. If you prefer the Spanish version, you can read that one too.
www.ministeriojuvenil.com: The website for the seminary program is finally up and running! It has been a lot of work, but it looks pretty good. We’ll be tweaking it in the next week, but we are happy with it. It gives all kinds of details about the youth ministry major at the Mexican Baptist Theological Seminary. We are also working on an English version of the website, so keep checking back for it.
National Baptist Convention: We just got back from a few days in the city of Pachuca, Hidalgo. We were there for the meetings of the Mexican National Baptist Convention. It was a lot of businees meetings, where an important decision was to be made regarding the two seminaries here in Mexico. They were going to combine the two, but decided to wait 2 more years to decide. So, we continue with the plans for the Center for Youth Ministry here at the Lomas Verdes campus with the desire to provide formal youth ministry training for those called to be youth pastors and youth workers. Please pray for us in the next few weeks as we continue to prepare for the first class that starts on August 16.
Goodbye: Tonight at the church we had a good-bye cookout for the group from Cornerstone. They came to Mexico to share their lives with the people of Dios Es Amor Baptist Church. It was a great time, as always. They shared the gospel with hundreds of people through passing out literature at the two mission churches; conducted youth group meetings in the homes of the young people of the church; painted the playground at the seminary in Lomas Verdes; and were a blessing to all who they met. I know they were an encouragement to us and to all who are here in Mexico. Thanks for coming, guys! We’ll miss you.
