The Circus is in town, and a college friend of mine works for the entertainment company who runs it. So he got us tickets to go to yesterday’s opening performance of “The Greatest Show on Earth.”
We wanted to surprise the kids, so we didn’t tell them we were going to go. I was more excited than they were.
We left early for two reasons: So we could find the place (the arena is in a part of town we’ve never been to) and so we could see the pre-show. Of course, the typical happened: we got lost. But the good news is that we found the Arena and arrived an hour before the show. That is right when the pre-show is supposed to start.

I heard a while ago that the moon would be passing really close to earth last Saturday, and I wanted to take some pictures of it. So I began to read different websites about how to photograph the moon, the best lenses to use (which I don’t have), what time it would be coming out, how long it would be around, where to look for it in the sky, and other things.
Saturday night around 7:40 when I went out to see if the moon had risen, I was greeted with a cloudy sky. So I went back in and waited. I went back out a little later, and I still couldn’t see anything, not even the super moon.
I had to keep checking, and finally, around 10 PM I went back outside, saw it, and took some pictures. Some of them even turned out pretty good.

We had Easter dinner on Saturday this year with some of our missionary friends. We went to their house, and the kids played with their kids. Then we all came back to our house (4 families with 14 kids) to hunt for Easter eggs at the Seminary. We may not have a big back yard, but having a Seminary out back makes for some great hiding spots for eggs.
After they hunted eggs, we dyed our own eggs out back in our back yard. The weather was great, and we had a great day. Check out our Easter pictures on Flickr.

My three words for 2012 are: Focus, Discipline, and Document.
In February, I decided I would be disciplined to run at least 2 miles everyday. I did it. I focused on making it a priority everyday, and as a result, I lost about 8.5 pounds simply because I got moving.
I didn’t do very well at documenting our life. I haven’t posted a daily summary picture in a long time. I need to try to do that in March. I also only wrote here 3 times. What? Wow that surprised me.
I have been pretty focused on work and on writing on www.ministeriojuvenil.com, our Spanish youth ministry website.
How did you do in February with your 2012 goals?
At the end of 2011 I chose 3 words for 2012. They were: Focus, Discipline, and Document. Instead of making traditional resolutions, I thought I would let these 3 words guide me throughout this year. January is gone, and I think I did okay as far as my three words go.

As part of “discipline,” one of my three words for 2012, I dusted off the treadmill today and hesitantly jumped on it for about 20 minutes for the first time in about 6 months.
I was a little embarrassed by the fact that I could only do about 1.2 miles in 20 minutes. When Nike+ automatically shared my synced run, I cringed at the fact that I could only post a 20 minute run on the treadmill.
But then I realized that we all have to start somewhere.
No matter what you’re trying to do, whether it’s save money, lose weight, get healthy, learn another language, read the Bible, or any other goal you might have, you have to start somewhere.
