I just got back today from a week-long intensive class in a different part of the world. It went well. Maybe I’ll write more on it later. For now, it’s time to spend some good time with my family. It’s good to be home and back with them.
Well…I was supposed to be driving to Miami today, but that’s not happening due to some visa related issues with the country I was going to be visiting. It turns out we can’t get them until Monday, meaning we can’t travel until Tuesday. So, I’ve been on the phone working like a maniac trying to get the most for the ministry money we are spending. So, I’ve called students, bosses, hotels, etc, all day. We are escaping without spending too much money, but we are still going to have a scar in the finances because of the changes. Anyway, I’ll be on my way to Miami on Tuesday. Class will start on Wednesday, and all will be fine.
We finally got in to Tampa this evening. More details soon, but at least you know we’re safe. Got…to…get…sleep.
Tomorrow morning, we leave before any human being should be out of bed. We’ll be heading off to Florida. Janell will be there for a while, but I’ll only be in Florida for 2 days before I go out of town to teach a class for a week. I’m looking forward to being with my students, but I do not at all feel very prepared for this class. I still have a lot of “on the fly” adjustments to my notes and other things. We’re also praying that we get our visas in time. I leave on Saturday, but we still do not have clearance to go. Maybe, I’ll have to wait until Tuesday to go. That would not be very good financially. Just another one of those waiting games. We’ll see how it works out. This time tomorrow, I should know if I’m going on Saturday or Tuesday. Hopefully, it will be Saturday.
I just checked out epassportphoto.com. It’s a site where you can upload your own photos, and it will make a 4×6 photo page with a bunch of passport sized photos on it. It’s pretty cool because now you won’t have to go to the store to get your passport photos taken and printed, etc. I’m sure there are also many other uses for passport sized photos.

I’m not sure if this is good or bad. According to this article a district school board in Illinios is going to be monitoring students’ blogs. Not only that, they will be making students who want to participate in extracurricular activities sign a pledge saying that they agree to disciplinary action if the school board finds “illegal or inappropriate” behavior posted on the internet. The question that I have is, “What is inappropriate behavior?” What do you think?
