My Squidoo lens on Ministry to Troubled Youth is ranked 844 out of 57,022. That’s not too bad, but I’d love to make it to the top 100. We’re getting antsy to go home for Christmas, but there are a lot of things to do still.
Yesterday was the Seminary faculty Christmas party. We had a good time, finally finding out who our “secret amigo” was. It was the secretary of the seminary. Today, I have one final class. Tomorrow are exams. Thursday is the final presentation in my culture class. Friday is free, sort of. Saturday, I’m sure we’ll be packing all day. And Sunday, we leave. So, yeah, there are a few things left to do.
Plus, I’m preparing for my class in Cuba in January, which I have never taught before. That makes it a little more difficult than teaching the classes that I have already taught in intensive format. It’s going to be a busy week. Especially when you’ve got that last week before I go home feeling. Sort of like the last week before you graduate when you don’t feel like getting the things done that you need to get done.
Yesterday was our first Christmas party of the season. We got together with the teachers and staff at Mexico City Christian Academy, where I speak in chapel twice a month. It was a good time. Nathan absolutely LOVES dogs. They have two of them, and he just couldn’t stay away from them.
Then, last night, Cole and I went to a concert of 6 youth bands from PIB Satelite. It was a pretty good concert, except they needed a little sound help because you couldn’t hear any vocals. Oh well, they’re learning. It was fun. Some of the musicians were awesome.
It is currently 32 degrees outside in Mexico City. This wouldn’t be a big deal except for the fact that every building is completely concrete. There is no insulation, making our house an icebox, igloo, or some other thing that is really cold. Brrrrrrr!!!
