Janell just told me a funny story about our Christmas dinner this year. If you read my Christmas post, you know there were about 25 people over for dinner. I didn’t know, though, that a stranger walked in as we were about to sit down to eat as though she belonged at the house. Apparently, after a few seconds, she realized she was in the wrong house. She was going to Christmas dinner at a neighbor’s house. Oops. We’re such a friendly bunch of people that we didn’t even think twice about it. “Maybe she’s with someone else.”
Yeah!!!! Two sports reasons to be happy today:
San Diego ends Indianapolis Colts’ hopes for perfect season, keeping the ’72 Dolphins as the only undefeated team in history.
Miami beats New York Jets. Unfortunately, because San Diego won, Miami is out of the playoff race. They are, however, at .500. Plus, remember, they beat San Diego last week.
I got this in my email today and thought it was funny. It’s the card for all seasons.

Today, we had a Christmas party with the missionaries from Mexico City. We met down at Capital City Baptist Church. There was turkey and ham (a treat here) and all sorts of fixings. There was also a lot of good dessert. We sang Christmas carols and thought about why we have Christmas. The kids had a gift exchange, and Nathan received a little kids’ telephone. He loves people, and the people love him. He’s the only little baby at these things, so everyone goos and gaas over him. He’s a stud.
We went about 2 hours away this weekend to Ixtapan de La Sal. It was a retreat weekend at a nice place with the missionaries in Mexico City. We had a great time playing, relaxing, and sharing together. We left on Friday afternoon and returned Sunday evening. Everyone loved on Nathan, and we rested. We also got to know some other missionaries who are working in the city.
The time of worship and Bible study was based on 1 Thessalonians 1, and we had a great opportunity to focus on what God has in store for us.
I can’t believe I missed this. I’ll post more about why later.
Another thing I missed. What a weekend!
