Happy Mothers’ Day! We celebrated American Mothers’ Day today because Mexican Mothers’ Day was Wednesday, May 10. So, Janell got two dinners for Mothers’ Day. We also went to “Obra Nueva” church and then to Tony Roma’s for dinner down in Polanco. We had fun with the other missionaries, and the food was pretty good.
In other family news, Nathan took his first steps by himself today. We were in the living room, and we decided to try to get him to walk on his own. He was so funny as he stumbled forward for four or five steps at a time with a huge smile on his face. Later, we tried to bribe him with a little whipped cream. He loved it when we would spray it right into his mouth. If you want to watch a video of his first steps, you can check it out here.
Overall, it was a great day for the family. It’s always great when we get to spend time together and when we get to rest a little. Tomorrow is the last day that I will speak in chapel at MCCA in the morning, so I’ve gotta get up early.
Janell and Nathan made it home! It’s crazy that it had only been a week, but Nathan is doing so much different stuff now. He’s pointing more, talking more, saying new words, almost walking, and generally just more grown up. I hate being away from him and Janell, and I’m extremely happy that they are back. I mean, look at that face.
I’m very excited because Janell and Nathan are coming back tomorrow! They’ve been in the States while I came back earlier to work (Seminary class and Guadalajara trip). They have been having a great time with Janell’s family, but I miss them a lot. I can’t wait to see them tomorrow.
Janell says that they are bringing so much stuff back that there isn’t going to be room for clothes. She can only bring one suitcase because she’s bringing the car seat, too. She’s gonna have her hands full tomorrow, now that Nathan prefers to be moving around and not sitting still like is required on airplanes. Pray for her as it’s going to be a looooong day for her.
Photo: Us at Kelle and Joe’s wedding.

So, I finished up the wedding ceremony video last night. It was a lot of fun. I learned a lot about video production, and I think it turned out pretty well. It’s a lot better than the video we have of our wedding, which didn’t turn out at all. Of course, the photographer kept getting in my way (and everyone’s way) during the wedding, but she didn’t seem to mind at all. I mean, right at the kiss the bride, she stands up in the middle of the aisle to snap a shot, in front of the entire crowd. Frustrating. Oh well, at least they’ll have a picture of their kiss to mail to the 200 people who couldn’t see it because she was in the way. I still have a lot of video to edit, and I want to put it on a DVD for them. We’ll see how that works out. No time today, though. I got lots to do before tomorrow.
NOTE: If you want to see the video on Youtube.com, here are the links. It’s poor quality, but you get the idea.
