This weekend, we were supposed to speak at First Baptist Church of Querétaro, in a city about 2 hours away from where we live. However, the church canceled on us, so we went to Querétaro for a family weekend away. It was relaxing since we didn’t have anything on our schedule, and it’s always nice to get out of the city for a while.
We stayed at an inexpensive bed and breakfast in the historical center of this very historical city, and we spent two whole days just hanging out, walking around, shopping, and enjoying being in a different place as a family. It was well-needed, since it seems like we’ve been going like crazy since we got back in August.
I really like Querétaro for its charm and atmosphere. It’s a safe city, with little crime and it is very tourist friendly. There are shops and gardens and plazas and restaurants all over the place. We had a great time.

Check out our video from the weekend.
We bought Nathan his first Miami Dolphins jersey yesterday. So, we both wore our jerseys today for game day. Unfortunately, Miami lost again.
Oh well, like always, there’s always next week (or next year). Maybe they’ll win another Super Bowl in Nathan’s lifetime.
UPDATE: Check out the video here.
This morning was Daddy and me time for Nathan and me. We went to McDonald’s for breakfast (at 8:30, there’s pretty much nobody there). Then we went to the park to play. It’s fun to watch him try to communicate with little Mexican kids. He had a blast. So did I. During nap time, Janell and finished painting the living room and then started painting the dining room.
Since today is the day Mexico celebrates it’s Independence Day, we went to a party put on by our church. We had great Mexican food and watched some pretty good folkloric dancing. I’m putting video up on the vlog as I write this. Overall, it was a great day. Tomorrow, we watch football.
Last night we went to Janell’s sister’s new house to celebrate our brother-in-law’s birthday.
On the way there, Nathan and his cousin both zonked out in the car. Nathan hadn’t had a nap all day. We thought the message on the pillow was appropriate.

I love this picture of Nathan and me at the Lake here in Lassen Pines. We waded around in it today for a while. It was really fun.
