Miami Dolphins this weekend

fins.jpgTomorrow, I’m heading out to Miami with my dad for his Christmas present. We’re going to watch our beloved Dolphins play the Bengals in Dolphin Stadium on Sunday. Sure, Miami has lost all but one game this year, but we’re still fans.

Hopefully, we won’t be the only ones in the stadium. Hopefully, Miami will win the game. But even if those things don’t happen, we’ll get to spend some time hanging out, which we haven’t done in a long time.

Halloween 2007

Smiling with the pumpkinsNathan went trick or treating Mexican style tonight with Alex, our friend from Florida, and a bunch of other kids. We romped through the neighborhood yelling, “Queremos Halloween” and hoping for candy.

All of the costumes were way too expensive, so we just let him go out in his Superman pajamas. It was fun, and we got tons of candy. We also had a chance to meet some of our neighbors who we would never have met any other way.

Our pumpkins this year were Ninja Turtles and Lightning McQueen, and they turned out pretty well. It was a little disappointing to eat the seeds without watching the World Series, since Boston won it so quickly.

Anyway, it was a fun night. The good thing about Halloween in Mexico is that Nathan gets to go again tomorrow afternoon. It’s sort of a three day holiday here.

Pumpkin Carving time

Tonight I will be carving a few pumpkins. Nathan picked out the following patterns that he wants on our pumpkins this year:

We’ll see if they look like that on the actual pumpkin. By the way, I got the patterns from zombiepumpkins.com. They have some pretty cool patterns, and the site is pretty nicely designed, too. It’s a little slow tonight, but that’s probably because it’s overloaded.

Polar Bears

Since we were going to the World Trade Center yesterday, we parked the car at the anthropology museum and took a taxi to the Expo. It’s just easier, since we always get lost going home from the World Trade Center, plus it costs less to park in that parking lot.

The museum parking lot is across the street from Chapultepec park, where the Mexico City zoo is located. Since Nathan was such a good boy at the Expo, we took him to McDonald’s at the zoo and walked around a little bit (admission is free), even though we have planned to go there on Saturday with some friends.

The animals were all very active during our trip to the zoo, and the polar bear was putting on a show for us. Here’s the video of it.
