Preaching…in English

Today, I preached at Capital City Baptist Church, an English speaking church here in Mexico City. It went well, I think, for my first time preaching in English for a few months. I preached on the promises for those who abide in Christ in John 15. The four promises we talked about were: An Abiding Savior, An Abundant Harvest, Answered Prayer, and Absolute Joy.

After church, we went out to Chilis with some friends from the church and some new missionary friends, too. There were 6 adults and 5 little boys in our party, so the people at the restaurant were thrilled to have us. We had a great time.

And then there were four

In case you missed it, after France beat Brazil today in the World Cup, there are only four teams left: France, Portugal, Germany, and Italy. I’m glad it’s almost over. I sure have been watching too much soccer lately. I can’t believe Brazil lost. I think Germany is going to take the cup. They have the crowd advantage, and they seem to be the strongest team left. What do you think?

Mentos and Diet Coke

We saw these guys on Letterman the other night, and I just found the video on the web. It’s pretty cool. I may have to try some of this for Fourth of July. I’m pretty sure they sell Mentos here. Anyway, check out the video.

Fox News Blacked Out

We usually get Fox News Channel on our Satellite dish here in Mexico, but because of the election on Sunday, they have blacked it out. They say that it’s due to the electoral law here. We read that it was because Fox was showing some results of opinion polls and talking about the elections. Anyway, it’s an interesting thing. I’m assuming it will be back on Monday after the elections are over.

It will probably be a hotly contested election for president. Please pray for a smooth election with no violence.
