Here are some pictures from our Youth Emphasis Week last week at the seminary. We did some drama, sharing, videos, etc. It was a pretty good week.

That feeling of accomplishment swept through my body yesterday as I officially took a micro-bus (combi) to the metro station, bought my ticket, rode the subway to my final destination (I road the entire blue line – 1 hour), and found where I was going. All for about 60 cents. That was just the beginning of a great day.
I was going to an event hosted by Dimension Juvenil. Jeffrey DeLeon, a friend of mine I met in Ecuador and leader of lideres juveniles, invited me to share a workshop with him at an event for youth leaders. After our workshop, many people came up to me to ask about training. It was incredible.
I also got to spend a lot of time with another friend of mine, Josue. We got to talk a lot about youth ministry, youth ministry training, and life. It was great to spend the day with him. We realized that we have a lot of work to do. Anyway, it was a great day for the ministry and a great day of personal accomplishment. I’ll post pictures of the event later.
Tomorrow, somewhere in Mexico City, I will be giving a workshop as part of Dimension Juvenil’s conference. It is supposed to be at the Grand Forum in Mexico City, but I have no idea of where that is. I hope to find it tomorrow morning. The workshop isn’t until 4 pm, so I have all day to find the place. Hopefully, it will be easy to get to. I’m thinking of taking the subway. It should be an adventure. My workshop will be shared with Jeffrey DeLeon. I will be talking about 6 key relationships in youth ministry.
Yesterday, I had class in the morning, so I decided I’d take the afternoon off and be with Janell and Nathan (since I’ll be working on Saturday – more on that later).
We decided to go to Parque Naucalli. It’s a gigantic park just down the street, and it has a ton of room to play. During the week, it’s not that busy, either, so we took Nathan. My favorite part was the teeter totter. It had been a long time since I had been on one of those. Nathan loved everything. He even got to chase some pigeons (Watch the video). He calls every bird a duck. It was fun.
In the picture, he is actually hanging on the monkey bars (with Janell protecting him). He is a strong boy, and he was laughing about it, too. It was a fun day.
Yesterday’s chapel really had little to do with Youth Emphasis Week because it was the day where the students from Homiletics class preached. The good side was that one of them was Oscar, one of the youth ministry students. My class was good, though. We had a great time acting out the different “positions” in a culture. I think it will help them remember them. Oh, I finally posted the audio from my “talk” from Monday. It’s in Spanish.
