Gordon Luff spoke to us tonight at the YMI Summit. It was incredible. I can remember how, when I was in college, there was all kinds of talk about Gordon Luff and his influence. I never had the chance to have him as a professor, but his influence is all over the youth ministry program that I learned while at Liberty.
Gordon is one of the godfathers of youth ministry. He is a living legend. He spoke from his heart about youth ministry philosophy, vision for the future, and other things that truly blessed me. It was awesome to hear about the history of youth ministry from a guy who lived it and was considered one of the best youth pastors in the country at one time. Hearing him share was probably the highlight of the Summit so far for me. I can’t even really describe it.
I actually have the privlage to work with godron Luff and his fanily. i work at a camp that they own and i have known them for many years. This is the kinde of stuff we look for in people. God bless
Thanks for the comment, Josh. Gordon is a great guy.
I had the amazing privelege of not only working at Lassen Pines under Gordon’s leadership, but also having him take me in as one of his own. At a very young age Gordon did for me what my parents could not do (raise me). I am 34 years old now and the one person who has impacted my life in so many ways is the one person I respect and admire most (Gordon Luff). I have learned so much from him during my young years. Because of him I have had the amazing opportunity to serve God at Lassen pines, go away to New York for the most amazing year of my life (Word Of Life Bible Institute), and attend Liberty University. Gordon, Thank you for answering my call for help 19 years ago. Wow I can’t believe it was that long ago……..
My prayer is that God uses me in a way that honor’s Him. Without God bringing the Luff’s into my life I may of never of come to know the Lord as my Savior.
