From the time I was in Middle School, I’ve been a Duke Blue Devil’s Fan. That’s really hard for some of my Kentucky friends to grasp, especially since I never went to Duke and lived in Florida my whole life.
Since I went to the Champions Classic this week (where Duke played demolished Kentucky), I made a video about why I’m a Duke fan.
I’d love it if you could take a few minutes to watch it…
This week I learned that one of the great professors at Liberty University, Dr. Harold Willmington, passed away. His son announced the news on Facebook with a picture of an empty bed and the caption, “Finally home.”
While I didn’t have Harold Willmington as a professor, I heard him speak in chapel many times and knew he was one of the foremost Biblical scholars of his day. His book, Willmington’s Guide to the Bible, is one of the few books I made sure I brought back with me from Mexico City when we returned from serving there.
Dr. Willmington made an impact in my life, and I wanted to make a video to share his impact. I’d love it if you took some time to watch it.
If you knew Dr. Willmington, what did you learn most from him? I’d love to hear in the comments.
I recently went on a trip to Ecuador for ministry. I was there to meet up with my former students, Edgar and Karyna, and to talk with a local Seminary about the possibility of starting a youth ministry program.
We made a video for the YMI banquet this year, and this is the portion that covers Latin America and what God has continued to do there even since we moved back to the United States.
You may not know, but I’m still the director of YMI’s Latin American ministry, and I’m excited to see how God continues to work in Mexico and Cuba. He has raised up a generation of youth leaders who are training others and ministering effectively to young people.
Please continue to pray for the YMI ministry in Latin America.
At the end of my trip to Cuba last month, the pastor of the church, Noel, gave some closing thoughts to the group about how our visit impacted him personally, the church we went to serve, and the small church plant that we helped paint.
I recorded this with my iPhone and then put some subtitles on it in English. This video means a lot to me because of what he says about how the trip impacted him and how our group was perceived by the people there.
