Today was also the first day of Youth Ministry 110 at the seminary. We have 3 students who are studying youth ministry as a career. Walking to class, I was approached by a group of 9 fourth year students who really want to take the class, too. They were wondering if I could change the time of the class. It wouldn’t accomodate my other students to change, so I have aggreed to give the class to the other students an hour before the other class. So now I will be teaching the class to 12 students in total at two different hours of the day. It will not be too much more work, but I believe it will be worth it.

This is the view from the school (Mexico City Christian Academy) where Janell works. By the way, you can click on the pictures to see them larger in a new window.

Janell is officially working at Mexico City Christian Academy now. This week is teacher work day week, and classes start next Monday. She will be teaching English for 7th through 12th grade. It will greatly help our ministry to these students and is an important part of our ministry here. The picture is of her in her new classroom.

Today was the last day of preparation for seminary class. Tomorrow is it. The notes are ready, the students are there, and hopefully, I’ll be ready, too. Please pray for me as we start this class, Principles of Youth Ministry, tomorrow.

Today was a long day. We went to church this morning. Then we invited our friend Abraham, seen in the picture above, to eat. We forgot that we were going to have “American” tacos. It’s funny to think that we invited a Mexican to our house for tacos. He is a seminary student and a good friend from the many times we have visited. Abraham has a heart for missions, and is helping us with the youth ministry at the church. We had a great time eating the American tacos with our Mexican friends. After we ate, we returned to church for the youth group meeting. There were about 15 of us there, and we talked about how we need each other in our group and in our Christian life. I think it went well. Tomorrow is Janell’s first full day at the mission kids’ school, and I will be at the seminary, preparing for Tuesday, the first day of class.

Yesterday, we took the morning off to watch the movie 13 going on 30. It’s a movie about a girl who on her 13th birthday wishes she were 30 and gets it. A great little story about how the decisions we make now can affect our lives later. It’s worth watching.
