Less than a week until I go to Monterrey to teach a workshop on youth ministry. I have a lot to do this week, including but not limited to: clean the house (I have to empty everything out of the kitchen because they are remodeling while we are away), grade papers for two classes (at least), get our car inspected, pack, etc.
I’ve decided that it might take me more than a week to do all of this stuff. Yikes! I guess I should prioritize.
Janell and Nathan went back to Florida yesterday. This is our summer to spend in the US, so they went back early. I will be back sometime in May, after seminary is over. They made it safely, but that means I’m home alone for a few weeks. I SHOULD be able to get a lot of work done. I guess that depends on how disciplined I am.
Have you ever had so much to do that you didn’t know where to begin? That’s me right now. I have papers to grade, classes to plan, a syllabus to make, and lots of other things. I’m feeling a little overwhelmed, but I know we’ll get it all done.

I took the car to the shop today because it was making a really funny noise. It turns out that the breaks needed to be changed. So, it’s there now. I’ll go to pick it up a little later. We’re also getting the oil changed, the motor cleaned, and maybe a brake light fixed. I hope I have enough money to get dinner after they’re done.
I gave my ticket to the aforementioned event to a student of mine. There’s always a next time. She’ll probably get more out of it than I would have anyway. Plus, I get to play the drums with Nathan for a while.
