Michael Jordan on Youtube

Okay, so if you know me, you know that I am a big Michael Jordan fan. Maybe you don’t know that. But I was a HUGE Jordan fan in high school when I played basketball. Anyway, I was checking out Youtube.com today, and I found all of these old (and not so old) Air Jordan commercials. Those were good times. I can’t guarantee that these commercials will be up forever, so enjoy them while you can.

National Team

So, I went with Paco to the soccer game last night between Mexico and the Congo. It was a great experience. We left at 5 pm so we could get there and get our general admission seats (about $15). We got to Estadio Azteca around 7 pm because there was a ton of traffic due to the fact that they closed down one of the main roads in Mexico City for a huge protest.

Paco and Dennis Before the game

When we arrived, we parked and went in to the stadium, where there was a ton of activity. We painted our faces with red, white, and green, and we went to look for our seats. We got some decent seats in the upper deck (general admission, remember), and we were ready for the game. After our two hour wait, the game started, and the only way I can describe it (even before the game) is as a whole bunch of constant noise. Mexico won, 2-1, and when we left, we could barely hear anything. The stadium was rocking and everyone went home happy, except for the Congo team. I’ll post a video later so you can hear the crowd.

Of course, even though there was little traffic on the road we would usually take home, it took us a long time to get home bacause they had closed it for repairs. So, we had to go a different way, and at 11:30 pm, there was tons of traffic. Ahhh…Mexico City.

A huge jersey The teams

El Tri

I’m getting ready to see “El Tri,” Mexico’s national soccer team play against the Republic of Congo in Estadio Azteca. It’s the last game for the team before the world cup. Ooooh, so exciting.

Foot in Mouth

Nathan is going to demonstrate how to put your foot in your mouth:

Step 1
Foot in mouth 2
Step 2
Foot in mouth 3
Step 3: Success!!!

My day

Today, I spoke in chapel at MCCA. I finished up the study we were doing on bad guys vs. good guys. I took the info from Jonathan Edwards’s Treaty on Religious Affections. After chapel, I had to hurry to the seminary for a faculty meeting that lasted until 12:30. I stayed there working until 1:30 pm, and then I came home and spend time with the family.

We went to the store, got some Krispy Kremes, and watched the Florida Gators win the National Championship. Oh…I also posted a video of Above and Beyond for Videoblogging week.

Oh, by the way, today marks the end of an era. We finally got rid of Compuserve. We no longer have our @cs.com email addresses, so please only use the gmail ones that you should already have.

Our weekend

New Bathing SuitWe had a relaxing weekend, spending a lot of time resting, even though Nathan has been getting up in the middle of the night the last few nights. We bought him a new bathing suit for our trip next week to Veracruz. It should be a good time, with work and play both planned for the time. Who knows how busy it will be because it is Semana Santa. I expect there to be quite a few people visiting Veracruz during the time we are there, but all we need is the pool at the hotel and some time to sightsee. Of course, we’ll be taking a few days to work, too, so it won’t all be play. I’m actually even looking forward to the working part of our “vacation.”
