Mango with Chili

I was digging through the kids’ Halloween candy yesterday and realized that if I was going to eat any of it, it would have to be one of the many pieces they got with Chili on it.

Janell’s birthday was last Saturday, and we had some friends over to eat cake that Ben helped her make. Here’s what we sing in Mexico at church before you eat the cake.

Two weeks ago, Dr. Jeff Iorg, the president of Golden Gate Baptist Theological Seminary visited our Seminary here in Mexico for our 110th anniversary. We also had some meetings to see how the two Seminaries can work together. He wrote a few things about his visit to Mexico on his blog.
Randy Smith from Youth Ministry International came to Mexico last weekend to meet with various Seminaries to talk about a new Master’s program we are starting to train youth ministry professors. These professors will then start youth ministry programs at their Seminaries.
Despite horrible traffic, the meetings went well. If all goes well we will begin the program sometime next year, and at the end of the program there will be at least 4 youth ministry programs at Seminaries throughout Mexico.
Here are some pictures we took of the meetings.

The idea is to help the local church dialogue about the issues facing us as we seek to interact with young people and reach their culture. Today we had a meeting to focus on the topic and help us plan the event so that it will benefit those who attend.
Please be in prayer for this event. I hope it leads to many good discussions on how we should go about reaching and discipling young people in Mexico.
