My List of things to do:
Finish preparing for tomorrow’s class (1st class of the bimester)
Meet with owner of gymnastics school to see if we can rent mats for the group.
Talk to the bus driver to finalize the schedule.
- Finish working on stuff for my part in the leadership workshops Note: I’ll have to work on that during this week
Buy water for the group
Finish schedule for the group
Clean house (we’re having some of the group stay at our house)
- Finish grading papers from Cuba Note: Will do it when the group leaves
Find a “good” place to buy karate supplies
Work out new schedule with class because there’s a problem with one of the youth majors and our class schedule
- Put together some thoughts on PIB’s youth ministry Note: Will work on that throughout the week
Go to meeting about schedule for next week
- And the list goes on…
No wonder I’m feeling a little stressed lately. I didn’t even put on there the personal stuff I needed to do. That was pretty much all work related. Wow. I should get busy.

The 5th episode of “24” just started here last night. We watched a sneak preview of it the week before, but we’re glad it’s finally out here. So, in honor of that, I wanted to post this cartoon I saw. (via: Marko) Click it if you want to see it bigger.
I was sad today because the water was too cold to go in the pool. We put some in there, I stuck my feet in, and they about froze. So, we couldn’t go in the pool today.
We did go to the tianguis (little side of the road traveling markets) and bought some fruit (also priced some stuff for the group). I also spoke in chapel at MCCA. We went to Sam’s Club, Burger King, Costco, and a Home Improvement Store (to look for boards for the group). We had dinner with the Torbert family, so it was a good day.
I have a meeting tomorrow night with the owner of a gymnastics school about the mats we need for the group, so please pray we get it all worked out.
We broke down and bought our first pool yesterday. It’s been getting hot here lately, so we bought Nathan a blow up pool. As you can see in the picture, it’s nothing big. It couldn’t be in order to fit in our back porch. We barely have enough room for the pool and the grill out there, but it will work. Nathan loved it, even though we didn’t put water in it yet. So we brought it into the living room and played in it for a while. Tomorrow is going to be a blast!
After attending youth group at PIB (First Baptist) Satelite last night, we went to “gringo church” today. It’s the church plant that our friends are starting. After church, we went to Tony Romas in Polanco (downtown) since they shut down the one next to our house.
There’s a group coming in a week from Florida to minister here in Mexico City. They are bringing a karate and stunt team. The plan is that they go around with a karate and stunt exhibition to draw a crowd and then share the gospel. It’s some good stuff, but we’ve been having trouble finding some of the stuff they need.
See the mat they are standing on in the picture? Well, it turns out that they cost a lot of money to buy here in Mexico, and it is difficult to bring them with you on the plane (they don’t fit in the overhead compartment). So, we’re looking for places to rent them. We have some leads, but would appreciate prayer so we can find them here. We don’t want any broken ankles.
