Craziness

Okay, so it’s always like this before you go out of town, but I’m feeling more and more of it this time. We’re going to Veracruz on Sunday, but I have a TON of things left to do before we go. It’s supposed to be a “working vacation”, but I can only see the WORK part of it right now. Combining the two makes it seem like there are even more things to do. And I’m here writing about it in the blog instead of actually doing the stuff I need to do for it. For some reason, writing about it makes me feel better.

Switching to WordPress

So I’m trying to switch over to WordPress for the blog. I already have another blog that is on WordPress, and I like the set up better.  It’s taking me a while to import and arrange the template for the site, but I hope to have it up soon.  My old host is taking their time redirecting the domain name, too, so we’ll see how that works out.

Seminary Website

Hey! The Seminary here in Mexico City has a new website. If you want to check it out, brush up on your Spanish skills and click this link: www.seminariostbm.org . So far, I haven’t seen much on it, but I hope soon it will work better.

I’m also going to be working on revamping the Center for Youth Ministry’s website, too. Right now, it’s just a big brochure. I want it to become a resource as well with some articles, podcasts, and other resources for Spanish speaking youth workers. It will never be as huge as paralideres.org, but I don’t need it to be.

I’m also thinking a lot about offering an “informal training institute” at night starting in August that will cater to those people who want to learn about youth ministry but cannot come to the seminary full time. Right now, it’s a work in progress, but I’m sure it could become something concrete in the future.

My day

Today, I spoke in chapel at MCCA. I finished up the study we were doing on bad guys vs. good guys. I took the info from Jonathan Edwards’s Treaty on Religious Affections. After chapel, I had to hurry to the seminary for a faculty meeting that lasted until 12:30. I stayed there working until 1:30 pm, and then I came home and spend time with the family.

We went to the store, got some Krispy Kremes, and watched the Florida Gators win the National Championship. Oh…I also posted a video of Above and Beyond for Videoblogging week.

Oh, by the way, today marks the end of an era. We finally got rid of Compuserve. We no longer have our @cs.com email addresses, so please only use the gmail ones that you should already have.

Our weekend

New Bathing SuitWe had a relaxing weekend, spending a lot of time resting, even though Nathan has been getting up in the middle of the night the last few nights. We bought him a new bathing suit for our trip next week to Veracruz. It should be a good time, with work and play both planned for the time. Who knows how busy it will be because it is Semana Santa. I expect there to be quite a few people visiting Veracruz during the time we are there, but all we need is the pool at the hotel and some time to sightsee. Of course, we’ll be taking a few days to work, too, so it won’t all be play. I’m actually even looking forward to the working part of our “vacation.”
