I’ll be using the following videos in my intensive class in January:
Maybe more. But these are the ones I’m definitely using so far.
My Squidoo lens on Ministry to Troubled Youth is ranked 844 out of 57,022. That’s not too bad, but I’d love to make it to the top 100. I’m thinking that if my friends who read this blog will go over there (click here), check it out, and rate it, I might get into the top 100 this week. So, go check it out.
While you’re on Squidoo, check out my Youth Discipleship lens, too. And while you’re there, make your own lens. It’s pretty fun.
Today is the last day of class for the quarter (besides exams). I’m giving a final project for my discipleship class. Here’s a rough translation of the content I’m looking for in the “Final Project” for my Discipleship in Youth Ministry Class:
- Your definition of discipleship and an explanation of that definition.
- In general terms, what is it that you want to achieve in the lives of the young people in your discipleship program?
- What specific objectives are there for the young people? Remember that there are levels of discipleship. Which objectives are there for each level (new Christian, Christian, etc)? Put these objectives in order of importance. What things are necessary for which level?
- What role do small groups play in your ideal program?
- What will an ideal small group look like?
We’re getting antsy to go home for Christmas, but there are a lot of things to do still.
Yesterday was the Seminary faculty Christmas party. We had a good time, finally finding out who our “secret amigo” was. It was the secretary of the seminary. Today, I have one final class. Tomorrow are exams. Thursday is the final presentation in my culture class. Friday is free, sort of. Saturday, I’m sure we’ll be packing all day. And Sunday, we leave. So, yeah, there are a few things left to do.
Plus, I’m preparing for my class in Cuba in January, which I have never taught before. That makes it a little more difficult than teaching the classes that I have already taught in intensive format. It’s going to be a busy week. Especially when you’ve got that last week before I go home feeling. Sort of like the last week before you graduate when you don’t feel like getting the things done that you need to get done.
I love watching the Dolphins beat the Patriots, especially if they shut them out. There’s not much better than seeing them make Tom Brady fumble twice and throw less than 80 yards. What a game! Too bad they have little chance of making the playoffs.
There is no chance for my fantasy football team to make the playoffs. They started today, and I finished 5th, so I’m in the “toilet bowl” with the other two losers. It was a fun year, even if I was horrible at it.
