After watching the video above, you’ll realize it’s just a marketing scheme. But, I tell you, it has happened to me. Not exactly like that, but in another way at Burger King’s major competition.
Living in another country and learning a new language teaches you many things. You learn from your mistakes. I have. That’s why I don’t go through drive throughs in Mexico. Let me explain.
We drove through a McDonald’s to get a McFlurry. I ordered in Spanish. They didn’t understand me. I said “I want a McFlurry.” After repeating it a few times, they told me that they didn’t sell those. I thought, “What? Of course they sell McFlurrys.” I had eaten them there before. So I just kept on driving and left without my McFlurry. The lesson I learned is that I cannot communicate through a drive through speaker in Mexico. Now, we go in to enjoy our ice cream.
You probably already know that Youth Ministry International is working in 5 countries throughout the world, training youth workers for local churches.
This picture landed in my inbox this morning. It’s of the latest youth ministry graduates in Kenya from the Kenyan Baptist Theological Seminary. It’s exciting to see what is happening all over the world as people are being trained to help and minister to young people in both formal and informal settings.
Last night was the Christmas concert at the seminary. The students always do a great job with it, and this year was no exception.
The youth ministry students are very talented. Two of them sang solos, and one of the girls danced to a song, too. I was excited to see them use their talents and abilities to minister to people and tell the story of the birth of Jesus.
The band did an excellent job, too. They did a rendition at the beginning that rivaled the Trans-Siberian Orchestra versions of Carol of the Bells. It was pretty awesome.
