Recently, I was talking with a friend, and he asked me some questions that many others have asked as well. So, I decided to write them down and answer them for anyone who might have the same questions. I hope they help you understand more about the nature of our life and ministry.
What is it exactly that you do?
My official title is “Vice President of Training Operations.” I work in the home office at Youth Ministry International and do a variety of things to help the ministry run smoothly around the world. That includes supporting our current missionaries with logistics, coordinating and teaching classes in training programs in various countries, working with missionary appointees to get them to the field in an efficient manner, and communicating with donors and helping the giving process to go as smoothly as possible.
What is your favorite part of your job?
No doubt my favorite thing about my job is traveling and teaching in various countries. The other stuff is pretty fun, too, but my favorite part is being on the “front lines” and meeting various youth workers who are “in the trenches” and encouraging them through teaching and training.
What is it that you do to have a global impact?
I am regularly involved in YMI’s ministry around the world. There are days when I speak with missionaries about issues in Asia, Latin America, and Europe while coordinating programs in Africa as well.
How many young people are impacted by your ministry?
From 2009 until 2017, YMI ministered to more than 500,000 young people, with 300,000 young people following Jesus in over 7500 churches around the world. Our goal is to reach over 1,000,000 young people with the gospel by 2028.
Do you get paid a salary from YMI?
No. The salary we receive is based on the support that we raise from generous donations of individuals and churches. YMI’s general budget does not provide a salary for us. The situation is the same as it was when we were living in Mexico.
How can we support you?
There are at least two ways you can support our family and ministry.
You can certainly pray for us. We need your prayers. We send an email update about once a month. You can sign up to get that here.
If you’d like to support us financially, we’ve listed all of the options on this page. We’d love to have you on our support team.
