Look what we found at the grocery store!!!

For six and a half years we have “imported” marshmallows from the United States to Mexico City so that we could make things like rice crispy treats and chocolate fudge. Well, today we were at the grocery store and found a whole shelf full of mini-marshmallows. Needless to say we were pretty excited.

They have marshmallows, but usually they are flavored with strawberry or some other kind of flavoring (which are also yummy, but don’t make good peanut butter fudge).

So we bought a few bags and are now getting ready to make rice crispy treats!!!

Kids Say the Funniest Things

Janell was reading Nathan the story of David and Goliath tonight, and they got to the part where they said, “If you defeat us, we will be your slaves, and if we defeat you, you will be our slaves.”

Nathan asked his mommy what a slave is. Janell responded, “A slave is someone who cooks for you, cleans up after you, and does what you tell them to do.”

To which Nathan responded, “Oh, so you and Daddy are kind of like my slaves.”

Progress…

Remember that back in August we posted this picture of Nathan at school. He wouldn’t participate in anything and was having a rough time.

Well, there has been a lot of progress at school in the last few weeks. Here’s a video from yesterday’s open house.

His progress report also said…

In your language, you have very good grammar and vocabulary! Congratulations! But it is important to congratulate you, applaude you, and recognize that the progress you have had in Spanish is incredible! You are structuring and pronouncing words very well and you are now starting to take an interest in putting together phrases to communicate with others! Big congratulations!

I am so proud of my little guy. He is doing excellent and learning something new everyday.

Ice Cream Interview with the boys

Ice Cream Interview with the boys

We bought some good ice cream from Costco, and last night the boys were munching down on it. I decided to take the time to ask Nathan about what kind of ice cream and cake he likes. He was quite talkative. Then Benjamin decided to show us how he likes to eat an ice cream cone.
