Safe arrival: The group arrived safely today. The church had a welcoming party for them, and tomorrow, we are going to downtown Mexico City to see some sights. We’ll try to take some more pictures and post them here when we get a chance. You can click the picture below to see an enlarged one.
Cornerstone University group: Today at 2 pm we will receive a group of 10 people from Cornerstone University. They are coming to work with the church “Dios Es Amor” like they do every year, working with the youth ministry and encouraging the church. We are excited to have them come. Please pray for the group and us these next 15 days.
A BUSY Week: We are pleased to tell you that we have had a very busy week. The reason we haven’t written any email updates or posted to the blog was that we have been so busy. 2 weeks ago, we went on a retreat with the missionary kids that we are working with. It was a great time of fun, fellowship, and learning about how God has SHAPEd each of us for ministry. We learned spiritual gifts, about our habits, abilities, personalities, and experiences. The down side to this was that I (Dennis) dislocated my finger playing basketball. I’m still having problems with it, and I’m going to the doctor to get it checked out on Tuesday.
Last Friday and Saturday, we were in Cuautla, Morelos, for a youth ministry training conference. It was a two day conference with the theme of: The Great Journey: Youth Ministry. There were 25 people there from 5 different churches, and we taught them the basic purpose and philosophy of youth ministry, helping them develop a plan for the youth ministry in their church.
Yesterday, we moved into our new house that we will have for almost a year. It’s a great place within walking distance of the seminary and mission office. What a great blessing! Well, we’re going to cut this off now; we’re going to a 4th of July party. Have a great day, and thanks for praying for us!
Coming pronto: Hey! We have been really busy lately. Yesterday, we were in Toluca with our friends Tim and Annette, fellowshipping and talking about youth ministry. Last week we were in Morelos for a youth camp. Click here for the pictures.
Mexico City: Well, we are finally in Mexico City!! We moved on Thursday from Cuernavaca to Mexico City. We will post some pics of our new place in a few days.
Mexico City once again: We are spending the week in Mexico City again, still looking for a place to live here for 5 months. We are sure we will come up with something. Yesterday we visited a church we always go to in Mexico City, and we got lost on the way back to where we are staying. Instead of 30 minutes, we took the hour and 40 minute route. Quite interesting! We managed to make it back, though. We are sure that is not the last time we will be lost!
