Big bug

Today, I was in the bathroom, and I saw the biggest bug I’ve ever seen. It was disgusting. So, Janell handed me some spray to kill it with. I took a picture of the crime scene. It was disgusting. I have never seen a bug so gross. Most of you already know how much of a girly man I am when it comes to bugs, so this one about made me crazy. Well…we killed it. Hopefully, we don’t see any more like that one again.

Puebla trip

Us in Puebla - ParianFriday and Saturday, we went on a trip to Puebla, Mexico. It’s about 3 hours away from where we live in Mexico City. The MCCA kids were at camp down there, and we went with our friends the Torberts to pick up their kids. Puebla is an interesting town, and it has a lot of good shopping, food, and history. We had a great time. We also got to meet some other missionaries who are working with college students. We had a great time. We made a video of the trip. Also, check out our pictures of the volcanos and also of the Cathedral in Puebla.

Cuernavaca

Cuernavaca: We made it to Cuernavaca, Mexico, just fine. I’m sitting in an internet cafe about 3 blocks from the place we are staying, and we are really excited. Today we took an exam to see what class we should be in for class when we start on Monday. I think it went really well. We are staying with the Hernandez family. They have 2 daughters, Jessica and Yeritzia. Unfortunately, we left one of our bags that we were supposed to bring to Cuernavaca in Mexico City. It was the one with all of Janells clothes in it. Thats okay, though, because on Monday, our family is going to take us to a market where we can buy all sorts of clothes fairly inexpensively. If anyone really is reading this, Id love to hear it. Thanks.

Spanish Language

May5Yes! It’s true. We have to learn Spanish in order to do the ministry that God has called us to do in Mexico. We’re planning on attending language school at Cuauhnahuac Spanish Language Institute in Cuernavaca, Mexico. We’ll probably spend about six weeks there, living with a Mexican family and attending classes for a large part of the day. It will be a total immersion experience for us. We’ve begun a little Spanish learning right now, using the Rosetta Stone program on our computer. It was recommended to us when we were studying at the Center for Intercultural Training last year. Janell found a pretty cool website to learn some Spanish, too. It’s Learn Spanish: A Free Online Tutorial. Hopefully, with all this help, we’ll be speaking Spanish in no time! We’d like to begin language school by September, so please pray that we will be able to do that. Thanks.
