We’ve officially moved into our new house! The renovation is finally done, and we are here. We still have a few little things to move in, but basically this weekend we finished the moving. Check out the video to see how the house turned out, and thanks for your support!
Today we finished up one of the most busy seasons of ministry in a while. In the last four weeks, we have traveled to Cuernavaca (about 2 hours south of Mexico City) as a family, taught an evangelism workshop in Toluca (about an hour away), preached at a local church here in Mexico City, preached in chapel, and done a mentoring training at a local church in Mexico City.
We’ve also participated in a youth worker meeting for leaders in Mexico City, started a new term at the Seminary, redesigned our Spanish youth ministry site, begun more classes in the certificate program, met with a new friend who wants to train youth workers in Mexico, begun taking a new class for my Master’s class, and started to fix up the new house. All with Janell in the first trimester of her pregnancy.
It’s been very busy month! But we’re not finished with being busy.
Here are a few things we have coming up: Speaking at a Spring Break Camp, a tip to Cuba to visit with our colleagues there, more certificate classes, moving to our new house, and Easter Sunday.
What have you been up to? We’d love to know. Comment below.
We are excited to move into the house at the Seminary soon. One of the reasons is so that the kids can play more outside. Today we spent some time at the playground with some of the other kids from the “Seminary Family.”
Thanks to all who have helped us so far to begin the improvements on the house to make it livable! We appreciate your support of our family and ministry in Mexico City.
In this video I want to show you some of the progress that we have made on the house. We have received about half of what we need to be able to finish up the house.
We could still use your help!!! If you’d like to help us finish fixing the house, you can send a check to Youth Ministry International (1300 Envoy Circle, Suite 1306, Louisville, KY 40299) with a note that says that it is for “the Poulette Housing Fund.”
For six and a half years we have “imported” marshmallows from the United States to Mexico City so that we could make things like rice crispy treats and chocolate fudge. Well, today we were at the grocery store and found a whole shelf full of mini-marshmallows. Needless to say we were pretty excited.
They have marshmallows, but usually they are flavored with strawberry or some other kind of flavoring (which are also yummy, but don’t make good peanut butter fudge).
So we bought a few bags and are now getting ready to make rice crispy treats!!!
