I absolutely can’t believe that Nathan turned SEVEN last week. He has grown into a sweet little boy, and I am amazed everyday at how smart he is. (Remember this video of his birth?)
We had his party last Saturday with some friends, so of course I made a video of it. He still doesn’t like it when you sing to him, but that’s something you have to do at a birthday party.
Last week we had a group visit from our home church in Florida. In the opinion of most, this group wasn’t that impressive and wasn’t going to make much of a difference for the ministry in Mexico City. Why? Because it was just one couple.
Doug and Debbie had planned on coming with a group from Gulf Coast Fellowship, but for various reasons, the group dwindled each month until it was just them who were willing to come. The size of the group left me, the organizing missionary, with very little options. So the purpose of the trip changed.
Instead of figuring out how much Doug and Debbie could do to minister to Mexican young people or Seminary students, they decided that the main purpose of their trip would be to minister to our family. I’m sure the week they spent here in Mexico made a difference on eternity. Let me explain.
Monday was kids’ day in Mexico. The kids at the Seminary celebrated on Friday with pizza, a piñata, cake, candy, and games. It was fun to watch our kids interact with their friends at the Seminary.
We took a trip to the pyramids today. I took a lot of pictures, but this one is one of my favorites. Nathan has been studying the pyramids in homeschool, so it was great for him to see them up close and in person.
We decided to only climb up the pyramid of the moon today. It was crazy because the steps are so big for Benjamin’s little legs, but we made it to the top.
It took us forever to come home. There was some kind of protest going on, so the whole highway was reduced to one lane, and the traffic was crazy (what’s new). Overall, it was a good day. I had fun hanging out with my boys.
