A New Year

Well, it’s finally 2007. Really, it just means that there will be a lot of messed up checks in our future. I always seem to write the last year for about a month. Who am I kidding, I don’t write the checks. Anyway, hope you have a great 2007. As for me, I’m starting the year off right with some preparations for my class that I’ll be teaching both in intensive form (next week) and this quarter. I just thought I’d take a quick break to write this post.

He’s his mother’s child

It wasn't me Tiiiiiimmmmmbeeeerrrrrrrrrr!
Yesterday, Nathan didn’t want to take his nap, but we put him in his crib anyway. We fought with him for a long time to get him to go to sleep, but before he would, he cried in his crib. The next thing we know, we hear a loud noise. It was him, ripping off the border in the room.

Then this morning, we were all getting ready to go out, and we heard a crash in the living room (I was right there in the dining room), and I saw Nathan tugging on a Christmas ornament as the tree came crashing down. Everyone was fine, except for the Christmas tree.

Overheard at the Panera Bread

Old man #1: “Well, tomorrow is the last day.” (pause)
Old man #1: “…the last day of the year.”
Old man #2: “I’m glad you said that…of the year part.”
All: “Ha. Ha.”

Tomorrow at New Hope

Tomorrow, I’m preaching at New Hope Community Church in Dunedin. It’s our home church, and it’s always good to be with them. I’m looking forward to sharing in the morning service. If you live around there, you should go. It starts at 10 am.
