I’ve been noticing a great difference between the quality of work between those who already have a degree and those who have never been to college. Because I’m teaching both Masters’ level classes and undergraduate classes, I have been noticing a great difference between the two in writing quality.
It’s amazing how many students who are in their first year of seminary do not know how to write a good research paper. Not only do they not know how to research, but they don’t write very well, either. Many times, they don’t even know how to follow the directions in the syllabus. In all fairness, though, they do get better the longer they are in seminary. I guess that’s the point: to help them improve in their education. I just hope they get better soon.
We spent most of yesterday picking up our friends from the airport. it took us about 45 minutes to get there. We waited for at least an hour because there were two people working in customs. Then, it took us more than 2 hours to get home because of the traffic. You never know when the traffic is going to be bad. We’re glad they’re back from their trip, though.
I had a great time teaching the Master’s Level class this week, but I sure am glad it’s over. Teaching all day everyday is really monotonous. The students learned a lot, and I believe that they walked away with a greater understanding of what youth ministry is all about. I’m glad to have taught it. I’m really glad to be finished with is. Now comes the regularly scheduled program.
