Tonight from 6-9 pm, we will be leading an activity for the high school students from Mexico City Christian Academy. It’s been a while since we’ve done anything like this, but our good friends asked us to do it, so we’re going to have something once a month for them.
They have promoted it as a fun time, so I’m in the middle of trying to figure out some fun things to do. It seems I’m not as fun as I used to be. We’ll see after tonight.
For the dating part of my family ministry class, I thought it would be so much better if the Mexicans taught themselves about it by doing a group class project.
Instead of hearing the gringo talk about dating (which I’m not so sure I understand in an American context, let alone a Mexican context), they have been researching, struggling with, and putting together a dating workshop for both parents of teenagers and teenagers.
The four major issues they will be dealing with are: Definitions in dating, Dangers in dating, Reasons for dating, and Influences in dating. They have done a GREAT job thinking through the material, and Tuesday they will be presenting it in workshop format. I’m looking forward to seeing what they come up with.
Last week I started trying to take a picture everyday of something typical of Mexican life.
