Mexican Best Buy and the Three Faces
I went downtown yesterday with Huberto to buy him his graduation present at the “Plaza de Tecnologia,” or, as I like to call it, the Mexican Best Buy. It’s a huge building (it takes up like a city block) with a bunch of electronics kiosks in it.

Unknown Heroes

Reflections on Starting
Four years ago, we started a youth ministry program at the Mexico Baptist Theological Seminary. Last Saturday, the first graduate received his Bachelor’s in Youth Ministry from our program. So here I am, reflecting on the beginning of this “formal youth ministry training program.”

Youth Ministry Certification
Almost one year ago, on May 27, 2007, YMI certified the first youth worker in the Ukraine. Today, we gave Huberto his youth ministry certification. He is the first Latin American youth worker that Youth Ministry International has certified, and it was an honor to be able to give him his certificate at his church this morning.

Over the years, we’ve taken lots of pictures of our friends the Torberts. This one was taken of them today at their good-bye party.
I can’t believe they are leaving. We’ve lived 2 streets away from them for the last 3 years, and we’re over their house at least twice a week. We’re going to miss them a lot.

Interns
Jon is a youth ministry major with a music minor, and Nicolle is an elementary education major and a Spanish minor. He’ll be studying in the same language school that we studied at for the next month, and then they will move up to Mexico City to help Huberto with the youth ministry at his church.

Cuernavaca
Today we’re heading down to Cuernavaca, Mexico. It’s the city where we studied Spanish when we first arrived in Mexico, located about 2 hours south of where we live now. It’s also where our friends the Cottrills have lived while studying Spanish.
