Yesterday was a big day. We were going to watch the inauguration on the news channels we get here, but our electricity went out.
So we quickly jumped in the car and went to Starbucks to watch the live stream. The internet was choppy there, but we managed to listen to Obama’s speech.
When we got home, the electricity was back on so we could watch the rest of the coverage. I noticed some really great things about the inauguration of President Obama.
Here are some things I found interesting:
- Satellite Image of inauguration – a God’s eye view of the inauguration
- Microsoft Photosynth – a mashup of various pictures taken from various angles and by various people…I wish they would do something like this for the Super Bowl, too.
- Inauguration speech written by 27 year old – you really CAN get work done at Starbucks
- The Inauguration through the Eyes of Flickr
What were your favorite or most interesting things about yesterday? Leave a comment. I’d love to have a collection of great things about this memorable day.
Just saw this on boing boing: http://c6.going.com/obama/inauguration_headlines.html
I appreciated the warmth and congeniality between the Bushes and Obama’s when the Bush family left on “Executive One”. I think that moment speaks volumes to the millions of Americans who only view those families as two opposite extremes – that as Americans, we can move beyond our differences.
Bro, I am Amazed at the HOPE in President Obama on the part of the Mexicans. They think everything is going to change. that he will swing wide the Gates of the United States and just let them in and make them Citiczens. I have seen various reports on Cnn/Mexico & the local channels & IT’S JUST WIERD THE Hope they have in him. For what? He’s not even their Pres.
