NaVloPoMo

In case you haven’t noticed, I haven’t posted much here lately. I’ve been too busy posting videos everyday for the month of November as part of National Videoblog Posting Month.

A bunch of videobloggers decided it would be a challenge to try to make a video everyday during November and post it. There are also people trying to write a novel in November and then there are others who are posting a blog post everyday. I couldn’t do all three, so I decided to go with the videos.

So, check out our videoblog to see what we’ve been doing.

My first E-book

With the recent popularity of YouTube and video on the internet, I felt the need to write sort of a tutorial (35 pages) on video on the internet, specifically focusing on the use of internet video for youth workers.

This is the first edition of the e-book, and I am giving it away over on YouthMinistrytv.com. I’d love to hear comments on it and ideas of ways to improve it. Please feel free to download it, read it, distribute it, email it, post it on your blog, etc. So, check it out. Hopefully, it will help you in your ministry.

Have Money, Will Vlog

As many of you know, we put videos on our blog, a practice known as videoblogging. Well, videobloggers are quite a community of people. They help each other with technical problems, and they also help financially with various projects. Recently, Erin needed some help getting to a videoblogging convention, so the other vloggers pitched in to help.

Today, a new website has been created to help videobloggers with various projects. It is called www.havemoneywillvlog.com, and the concept is simple. A videoblogger submits a project and a financial need, and the community pulls together to help find the funds for the project. People can donate on the site, and the project will receive the money when the goal is met. It’s as simple as that. The individuals in the community will either donate a little themselves or seek ways to spread the word about the project. It’s the “many hands make light work” of fundraising. Check it out here.

Busy few weeks

Okay…so it’s been forever since I’ve updated this page. We’ve been extremely busy. I feel like I’ve got to write something here about the last few weeks. First, the conference in Mazatlan went awesome. Here’s a video of it on the vlog. Then the group from Indiana came and helped us with a Bible school for the kids of Atizapan. That went well, too. We had about 50 kids per day come to MCCA to sing, learn, and play. I’ll post a video about that, too, when I get some high speed internet. We arrived in Florida last Monday. We are spending time with family and connecting with friends. Janell’s grandma Graham passed away this week, so we are spending a lot of time with the family. Please pray for us. It’s been a crazy few weeks.
